Both Binks and I arrived early on a beautiful Easter morning which was just as well as 700 people had entered the very popular event. Conditions were perfect for racing but the undulating nature of the course was always going to test each runner especially taking the hill on the second lap.

The volume of runners on the start line was going to be a challenge for the organisers and they was tested immediately on the gun when a Marshall was knocked to the floor with all the runners having to take evasive action. Having completed a lap I noticed that the Marshall was sat up enjoying the race so appears to have been unharmed.

It was the first time I had run this race since taking running up seriously early last year so it was nice, for once, not to be lapped by the race winners!

The run up the nasty hill first time round was hard and second time was proper nasty but all those Thursday night sessions in Taverham paid off as I attacked the hill both times and felt pretty dam chuffed with myself at the summit on each occasion.

Clearly the weather conditions and sheer number of runners helped both Binks and I as we both made it home with PB's. A lovely goody bag of a medal, banana, water bottle, energy drink, Cadburys creme egg, Haribos, Mars Bar and a breakfast bar, meant that I was pretty stuffed soon afterwards.

A very well organised event that I will be entering next year for sure!
