Dereham 10 miler

It was a beautiful morning in Dereham and the boys in green were ready to take on the Dereham 10 mile race (both a County Championship and a Leathes Prior Grand Prix event).

James Beadle arrived bright and early and registered half of the Reepham Runners morning contingent for the race (then helped Craig with some cable tie management on a few advertising banners!).

A quick team photo was followed by a dash to the start line via the loo and a lap or two of the school field.

It was a hot day but we were lucky to have three water stations though the gap between first and second station did feel like forever.

It was a tough course with Strava showing the first half being very much downhill with the second half getting us back up it.

James Beadle was out of site by end of the second mile with Richard Dade hot on his heels. Craig Farr, Jon Beverley, Andy Hawes and John Morgan were running in close formation for much of the race with the killer hills on the back making for some slow miles. All being said though it was rather a successful day!!

Congratulations to Richard Dade for winning County Championship Bronze for age group and well done to James Beadle, Jon Beverley and Andy Hawes for coming a brilliant second in the men's open team event under 40's. No mean feat as it was a well attended, popular event!!

A PB gave something for Craig Farr to shout about and John Morgan completed his second longest race after his Norwich Half marathon run out last November. I'm sure you will agree that the Dereham 10 mile super six Reepham Runners did the club proud!
