Bintree Relay Race - Friday 29 August 2014

Clem Vogler, being joint Reepham and Dereham, organised his infamous Relay Race for 2014 with Dereham, North Norfolk Beach Runners and Reepham on Friday 29 August.  The venue was the Church at Bintree as usual.  The route - 1.6 miles as usual.  The plan - relay of teams made up of 4, each doing  a leg, with the sting in the tale of a fifth lap ran by all in stages - so planning needed.

The weather was not the forecast dry but threw in the odd shower to keep us on our toes!

Dereham put a ringer team in as usual - but this year it was made up of juniors - who won - slightly humiliating to be beat by a team of extreme youngsters - by nearly a culmative 10 minutes to the next team (44.00).  However the next team was Reepham - Yeah!  This team was made up on Nick Bowden, Binx Neate-Evans, Andy Hawes and Kay Harvey, who came in with a time of 53.48.

Reepham's next team was lead by Greg Quinn and came 6th in a time of 58.16 and comprised of Jenni Egmore, Felix Evans and Bekki Cowling (soon to be a Reepham Runner!). The final Reepham Team, but no means least was lead by Shaun Webb (who did the 3rd fastest lap in a time of 8.57) and consisted of Paul Harrison, Maree Latham & Paul Harrison.

Clem then organised a scoring system, which we couldn't totally understand, to signify which Club had run overall, on how many teams they had entered and how well they had done.  Dereham won and Reepham came second with NNBRs tailending.

Results below and a big thank you to Clem and his helpers for another great event.
