Cross Country 2015

posted 24 Mar 2015, 02:03 by Jon Beverley

Well what a beautiful day for the cross country - milder, sunny - not sure that made the water any warmer though!

We had a great turnout and everyone seemed to prefer the new route.

Andy Mulligan, Coltishall Jags, who was first at the last cross country we organised in February 2014, won again in a time of 37:07, closely followed by our Nick Caley in time of 37:12.  Third man was Carmine De Grandis, North Norfolk Beach Runners, who after a 16 mile bike ride, completing it in a time of 38:22, then cycled home!

Our Pippa Crosby was the first lady in an excellent time of 40:02, four minutes ahead of Ellie Bye, Coltishall Jags, who completed in a time of 44:18.  Third was Nicola Baker, Gt Yarmouth Road Runners in a time of 46:56.

After the first three ladies and gentlemen we did random prizes as usual. 7th man was Trevor Wood (who had left before prize giving, so Trevor please contact us for your prize) in a time of 39:06 and 7th woman was our Jo West in a time of 55:40.

15th man was John Gay, North Norfolk Beach Runners, in a time of 42:22 and 12th lady was Amelie David in a time of 1:04:38.

The mudiest (and best impression of a dog - especially the sniffing and cocking leg!) went to Mike Jolly.

The first dog was Stella (accompanied by her owner, Jamie Mack) in a time of 51:54

Last, but definitely not least was Joanne Smithson, who did an absolutely brilliant run accompanied by Phil Cooper in a time of 1:10:10.

A Big Thank you to all our Marshals without whom the race would not take place, Whitwell & Reepham Station for allowing us to hold the race (and cover their marquee in mud!) and especially to Nigel Carey for allowing us to run over his land.
